The Joys of a Furnace
My house is one-story -- built on a slab -- 900 sq. ft. The furnace is in the utility room that is roughly 7 1/2 ft. x 11 ft. The washer and dryer are in there. The furnace has now chosen to take this opportunity in time to crap out on me. The flame sensor does NOT like living in the furnace that lives with the washer and dryer. Stuff from the washer and dryer coats up the flame sensor and it doesn't know when it is supposed to ignite the furnace. It doesn't matter if you use liquid detergent and liquid non-chlorine bleach or powdered. The stuff still coats the stupid flame sensor. Sucks....

OY! Its things like this that make apartment living seem wonderful .. I feel for you .. our brownstone furnace had issues this past fall and our friends who own the bldg were just recently reminiscing about how things like that always happen at the worst time.. tho I cant imagine when a good time would be.
awww....the joy of a wood burner it might be a pain during the summer cutting and stacking but when you light it , it goes . Luv Ya Mikey :-)
That stinks! I've never heard of stuff from a W+D having that effect. Esp. only being in the same room. That's terrible.

Bummer. Well at least it isn't as cold as it has been.
Is your dryer vent too close to your furnace intake??? That would cause linty air to get sucked into the furnace fresh air supply.
Just a thought.....still a bummer.
The dryer is across the room from the furnace. It's such a small room that it's part of the cause, I am sure. When they built the house (1968) furnaces didn't have flame sensors. Sigh.
