Weather - Ugh...

Well, I was greeted by this as soon as I turned on my computer this morning: SEVERE WEATHER ALERT! Sigh. And a Happy New Year to you, too! Seems there is heavy snow headed to Southeastern Michigan through the far Northeastern Ohio and the Alert is through tomorrow. Ah crap.

I know the farmers need the snow just like they need the rain, and the ground needs it too, but.... must there be so much of it all at once?

I worry about all the people who were planning an outing for this special evening -- maybe some of them for their first New Year's Eve together. Now do you not only have to worry about all the drunk drivers, you have to worry about Mother Nature giving you an uppercut!

I am wishing all of you love, hope, happiness, health, and prosperity for the New Year. If you are going to go out tonight, please be careful. Have a good time, but remember to not drink and drive. (all together now... "Yes, Mom!")

Doing a Little Reading

I admit it. I love reading other blogs. Lots of them. I have quite a few favorites. The first blog I found was through the New York Times called Dream Home Diaries. Then I found House In Progress and Houseblogs.net and the rest is history. I have grown quite fond of all the writers. Their humor in the face of all that they do is amazing. I would probably be flinging a hammer in frustration and then paying for the fit of temper!

There are those that not only renovate or restore but find time to do other things like paint or take beautiful photos, working full time at a job while living in chaos at home, raising little ones, doing home-schooling, or having a home full of four-legged family.

My hat is off to all of you. You all do a super job and do it tirelessly.

Baby Steps?

I am just learning to do this. I will be taking either baby steps or crashing and burning!
