I have been tagged!

I have been tagged by my dear friend Carol at http://charliandme.blogspot.com/ to do a post listing five addictions I have.

So the name of the game is ADDICTION......

The rules of the tag are as follows:

Name five things you are addicted to.
Write a post.

Now here goes....

1. My Computer.... That just goes without saying! I love to blog, to check on all of my blogger friends, play games, enter my points for My Coke Rewards.

2. The Big Bang Theory.... I absolutely LOVE that show! I try to never miss it. I definitely get the humor!

3. Solitaire.... Spider, Free Cell, Pyramid, Golf... so many games, so little time....

4. Candles..... Spice, Pumpkin, Apple Cinnamon, Cucumber & Melon, Eucalyptus... candles in jars, candles on pedestals...

5. Bookworm...... My nephew Mike introduced me to this game. I liked it so well I purchased it and have been hooked ever since!

1. If someone loans me a hardcover book, I make a book jacket out of paper so that I don't get finger prints all over the cover.

2. One of the scariest books I ever read was Christine.

3. I love Sherlock Holmes, Ellery Queen and Agatha Christie.

4. I have some of the books that I used to read to my son when he was little. They are of of great sentimental value to me. I loved to read to him and he now reads some of the same books to his kids.

5. I used to walk from my house to the Public Library on Fort St. by Southwestern every other day. I would take out 3 books at a time.

6. I love to read Nicholas Sparks' books. My friend buys them and lets me read them first. I think I've read everything he has written!

7. I have all the Harry Potter books, AND I've pre-ordered JK's new one!

......I'VE BEEN TAGGED!.....

My good friend Carol at http://charliandme.blogspot.com/ has tagged me! I am supposed to list six Quirks about myself.......

Here are the rules:

Quirky things about me?... Oh my!...... Well here goes:

1. I have to have socks on my feet. HATE going barefoot!
2. Can't stand to hear a bag crinkle. Have absolutely NO idea why.
3. I love to listen to Christmas music all year 'round.
4. When I eat barbequed ribs or chicken, I have to have them plain. Don't like BBQ sauce!
5. I like to go into the grocery store, get what I came for and then leave.
6. I don't mind washing clothes or drying them, but I hate to fold them!

I have decided that instead of picking 6 bloggers, I will just ask that anyone who is interested in participating go ahead and do so. That way, there's no pressure to come up with Quirks! LOL

1. Twenty years ago I went back to school (business college) after being out of school for 20 years and managed to graduate with a 3.88 grade average.

2. After I graduated from business college I found the job of my dreams... not only did I find a job I love, I get paid to do it!

3. I am very close to my sister that lives up north. I love her more than life itself.

4. I listen to Christmas music all year long, but I love all kinds of music.

5. I absolutely LOVE house blogs!

6. I have 4 great-grandchildren.

--- The Best Gift Ever ---

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college.For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.

Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study.His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible?"And stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day.

Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.

When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt 7:11, "And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?"

As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessing because they are not packaged as we expected?

Just a Word...

Seems I have been tagged by Alan Pardoe. You have to think of a word and then add to it. For example, water... waterwheel.

Let's see... how about band.... bandwagon.

Alas, I've been told I have to do more than one word "extension", so..... how about bandage, bandwidth, bandit, bandaid, bandicoot, bandstand, oh, and bandshell and bandsaw uh, and bandanna?!!!
