Where Does The Time Go?

I miss all of my bloggers from yesteryear. It was so exciting to see the home restorers / renovators, my friends old (before blogging) and newly made - posts about their day, their families, their adventures. And I have let another almost three years pass before posting again. I miss being younger, more confident, and more secure. Time and the pandemic have taken a toll on those things. I just pray that all of my friends are safe, healthy and happy. Sending you all hugs and a bit of Detroit. (Michigan Central Depot - Christmas 1913)

Three Years?

I am so sorry! I didn't realize it has been over three years since I've posted on my blog! I think maybe Facebook has taken over my life.

There are so many wonderful things happening in my life. Our family is growing by leaps and bounds, but our fur family (our Gidget and Miss Yoda) have been gone for quite awhile.

So many things have changed on the blog site. I'm not sure I even know how to do this.

Hello, to all (if there are any) my followers, and great big hugs to you.

Gidget

Today we had to say good bye to our beautiful Gidget (kitty under the umbrella to the left). We had almost 16 wonderful, happy, crazy years with our baby. Now she is with her step-kitty sister (Miss Yoda) and my Sissy waiting for us over the Rainbow Bridge. Farewell my beautiful kissy face.

Too Funny Not To Share

Where are your Glasses??
I love this one!!!!  I would never be able to think of a reply like this one!!!

Yesterday my daughter e-mailed me again, asking why I didn't do something useful with my time.

"Like sitting around the pool and drinking wine is not a good thing?" I asked.

Talking about my "doing-something-useful" seems to be her favorite topic of conversation.

She was "only thinking of me", she said and suggested that I go down to the Senior Center and hang out with the guys.

I did this and when I got home last night, I decided to play a prank on her.

I e-mailed her and told her that I had joined a Parachute Club.

She replied,  "Are you nuts?  You are 78 years old and now you're going to start jumping out of airplanes?"

I told her that I even got a Membership Card and e-mailed a copy to her.

She immediately telephoned me and yelled, "Good grief, Mom, where are your glasses?!
This is a Membership to a Prostitute Club, not a Parachute Club."

"Oh man, I'm in trouble again,"
I said, â€Å“I really don't know what to do. I signed up for five jumps a week!!"

The line went quiet and her friend picked up the phone and said that my daughter had fainted.

Life as a Senior Citizen is not getting any easier, but sometimes it can be fun.

Thank You...

Let us not forget what this day is really about!  To all who have served, who have given the ultimate sacrifice, and who are serving wherever you are..... I am deeply in your debt. Thank you.

It's Been Awhile....

It is so sad that Facebook has taken over my life..... I used to blog every day. Now, apparently, I only post twice a year. Sigh.

I am sitting here looking out the window in my "den" at the snow falling yet again. I am no so sure about the snow.... I know I don't want any more ice or many degrees below zero stuff. I keep hitting the delete button on Winter, but I think the delete button is broken. Really BIG sigh.

I am hoping that everyone is staying warm, safe and has power.

Blessing to all of you.

Powerful

This is why the Native American cries. Man has defiled the Earth and all that is in it. Soon there will be nothing.

Never Squat With Your Spurs On...

Never squat with your spurs on...

Will Rogers, who died in a 1935
plane crash, was one of the
greatest political sages this country has ever known.

Some of his sayings:

1.
Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco.

2.
Never kick a cow chip on a hot day.

3.
There are two theories to arguing with a woman. Neither works.

4.
Never miss a good chance to shut up.

5.
Always drink upstream from the herd.

6.
If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.

7.
The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back into your pocket.

8.
There are three kinds of men:  the ones that learn by reading, the few who learn by observation, & the rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves.

9. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

10.
If you're riding' ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there.

11.
Lettin' the cat outta the bag is a whole lot easier'n puttin' it back.

12.
After eating an entire bull, a mountain lion felt so good he started roaring.
He kept it up until a hunter came along and shot him.

    The moral
When you're full of bull, keep your mouth shut.

ABOUT GROWING OLDER...

First ~
Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

Second ~
The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Third ~
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me; I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

Fourth ~
When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to youth, think of Algebra.

Fifth ~
You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

Sixth ~
I don't know how I got over the hill without getting to the top.

Seventh ~
One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it's such a nice change from being young.

Eighth ~
One must wait until evening to see how splendid the day has been.

Ninth ~
Being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

Tenth ~
Long ago, when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft.
Today it's called golf.

And, finally ~
If you don't learn to laugh at trouble, you won't have anything to laugh at when you're old.

Amazing Home Remedies....

THESE REALLY WORK!!

I checked this out on Snopes and it's for real!

AMAZING, SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES:

1. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP.

2. AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTING THE TOILET SEAT BY USING THE SINK.

3. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. REMEMBER TO SET A TIMER.

4. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON.

5. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES; THEN YOU'LL BE AFRAID TO COUGH.

6. YOU NEED ONLY TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T  MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

7. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

THOUGHT for the day:

SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES - NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN THEY'RE PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS.

Computer Battle

Thanks to my friend, Frank!

This is one of the best clean jokes I've seen in awhile!

Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was tired of hearing all the bickering.

Finally fed up, God said, 'THAT'S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will judge who does the better job.'

So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.

They moused.

They faxed.

They e-mailed.

They e-mailed with attachments..

They downloaded.

They did spreadsheets!

They wrote reports.

They created labels and cards.

They created charts and graphs .

They did some genealogy reports .

They did every job known to man.

Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell.

Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed across the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power went off...

Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld.

Jesus just sighed....

Finally, the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming:

'It's gone! It's all GONE! 'I lost everything when the power went out!' Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of work.
Satan observed this and became irate.
'Wait!' he screamed. That's not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his work and I don't have any?'
God just shrugged and said,

JESUS SAVES ...

Oh Deere!

I borrowed this from a friend on Facebook. My kind of humor! Hope it tickles your funny bone!

Jim Bob is passing by Billy Bob's hay barn one day when, through a gap in the door, he sees Billy Bob doing a slow and sensual striptease in front of an old Green John Deere.

Buttocks clenched, he performs a slow pirouette, and gently slides off first the right strap of his overalls, followed by the left. He then hunches his shoulders forward and in a classic striptease move, lets his overalls fall down to his hips, revealing a torn and frayed plaid shirt. Then, grabbing both sides of his shirt, he rips it apart to reveal his stained T-shirt underneath. With a final flourish, he tears the T-shirt from his body, and hurls his baseball cap onto a pile of hay.

Having seen enough, Jim Bob rushes in and says, "What the heck're ya doing, Billy Bob?"

"Good Lord, Jim Bob ya scared the bejeezers out of me," says an obviously embarrassed Billy Bob.

"But me 'n the Ol' Lady been havin trouble lately in the bedroom d'partment, and the therapist suggested I do something sexy to atractor."

[Don't make me come 'splain this to you! Read the last line again, slowly.]
